Vaara by Penhaligon's is a Oriental fragrance for women and men. Vaara was
launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Bertrand Duchaufour. Top notes are quince,
rose water, carrot seeds, coriander and saffron; middle notes are rose, freesia, magnolia and
peony; base notes are honey, white musk, cedar, sandalwood, benzoin and tonka bean.

STORY
Our journey of discovery began cradled in an airy warmth. A blend that was both soft
and spicy. (Coriander, carrot seeds and quince). Advancing into the gardens roses perfumed the
afternoon. Indian magnolia, freesia, peony and iris came to facet the bouquet. And just as the
descending, heavy sun interrupted the still lake, just as the red earth Mehrangarh fort contrasted
with the icy blue hues of the town walls…. then honey, tonka, musk and warm woods and resin
arose to create a peaceful balance that transformed sensational Rajasthan (all spices, colourful
petals, and silks) into a calming, majestic, whispering scent.
