Paithani by Penhaligon's Perfume. Paithani is a spicy, vivid unisex perfume with
Eastern influences. The notes blend together to create a woodsy and leathery perfume with a kick.
The top notes of black pepper, cardamom and nutmeg bring a spiced first impression of the scent.
Rose, mate absolute and milk accord combine for an aromatic tea-like scent, milder than the warm
top notes. The base of labdanum, leather, amber wood and Indian cedar is earthy with a tinge of
smoke. The scent combination is distinctive and reminiscent of incense.

Inspired by the land of vivid coloured saris, Paithani begins with the smell of spicy hot
tea. Added to it, as tradition dictates, an agreeable explosion of spice (cardamom, nutmeg and
pepper – the fragrant holy trinity). The soothing aspect of a silky, milky rose, serves as a rousing
caress. Soon there is the famed cedar from Himachal Pradesh that blends with the smell of leather
trunks. Much like the setting sun, rich amber infuses and illuminates the end of this story.
