L’Atelier D’Ernest Scented Candle

Testimonies have been found in the Caron archives describing the atmosphere in
the workshop where Ernest would retire to dream up his designs, a place full of history and
emotions, halfway between a cabinet of curiosities, a library and a design studio. In this sanctuary
presided over by his wooden perfume organ, Ernest had assembled a collection of precious
objects brought back from his many travels. Ambergris, musk, spices and dried flowers were lined
up on his desk in glass jars. The aromas of waxed Haussmann-era parquet flooring and burnt
wood mingled with the scents of the perfume blotters freshly imbued with the fragrances he was
developing.
